Consumer Protection for Moving Day

Check your mover before you pay a deposit.

Most moving disasters start before the truck arrives. MoveVerify helps you spot broker handoffs, vague pricing, non-binding estimates, deposit traps, and contract language that could put your furniture — and your money — at risk.

Independent consumer protection

MoveVerify is not sponsored by moving brokers, carriers, or lead-generation companies. Our goal is to help consumers understand moving risks before they pay a deposit.

Why MoveVerify Exists

MoveVerify was created after seeing how confusing moving quotes, broker relationships, deposit policies, and contract terms can be for consumers. Many people commit to a move without fully understanding who will perform the service, how pricing can change, or what happens if plans change.

We built MoveVerify to help consumers identify potential moving-risk indicators before paying a deposit. Our goal is to make moving contracts easier to understand, promote transparency, and help families make more informed decisions before booking a move.

MoveVerify is independent and is not sponsored by moving brokers, carriers, or lead-generation companies.

What MoveVerify checks

Deposit traps

Highlights refund restrictions and terms that can lock in early payments.

Non-binding pricing

Hidden fees

How moving scams happen

Broker bait-and-switch

A low quote gets the booking, then your move is transferred to a different carrier with different terms.

Price inflation after pickup

Initial estimates rise once your goods are loaded, leaving little leverage to dispute sudden charges.

Delivery hostage situations

Delivery is delayed or withheld pending extra payments not clearly disclosed in original terms.
